NAMI Keystone Pennsylvania and State Affiliates Honored with National Award Honor Recognizes Leadership and Dedication to Mission Pittsburgh, Pa. - The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is honoring its state organization in Pennsylvania, NAMI Keystone Pennsylvania, and its 31 affiliates with the “Outstanding NAMI Member Award.” The award is the highest honor given to members in recognition of their longstanding, effective work toward accomplishing NAMI goals. The award was presented to NAMI Keystone Pennsylvania CEO Christine Michaels and affiliate leaders during the NAMI National Convention in Seattle on Saturday, June 22. “To be recognized by the national organization is a huge honor for all of us,” said Christine Michaels, CEO of NAMI Keystone Pennsylvania. “It shows that despite challenges, we have been able to work together and focus on NAMI’s mission of improving the lives of children, adolescents, adults, and family members affected by mental illness.” Every year at the national convention, individuals and organizations are honored for their commitment to the NAMI movement. In the 2019 NAMI National Convention Brochure, NAMI leaders wrote that the Pennsylvania member community was chosen because, “Working with a common purpose, overcoming differences, and improving lives across the state, members of the NAMI Pennsylvania community truly reflected the heart of NAMI. These accomplishments point to a bright future that will benefit individuals and family members across Pennsylvania.” |
