For Immediate Release NAMI Keystone Pennsylvania CEO Chosen to Serve on NAMI’s Strategic Planning Steering Committee Pittsburgh - NAMI Keystone Pennsylvania CEO Christine Michaels has been chosen to serve on the 2020-2025 Strategic Planning Steering Committee for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). The main role of the steering committee is to make recommendations about the goals, strategies, and priorities NAMI should pursue during the 5-year period. “It was an honor to have been chosen to serve on this committee,” said Christine Michaels, CEO of NAMI Keystone Pennsylvania. “I believe a strong plan for the future establishes a framework that will enable all of us to make better-informed decisions on a daily basis.” Committee members will examine research and analysis provided by NAMI consultants and use that information to interpret the implications for the organization’s future. Recommendations from the steering committee will be passed along to the Board of Directors and NAMI leadership who will make the final decisions. “Having an impact on the future of NAMI is an important responsibility that I take very seriously,” said Michaels. “But I’m looking forward to the new information I expect to gain through the process and my hope is that I can bring this insight back to Pennsylvania to benefit our affiliates across the state.” The first steering committee meeting will take place in Arlington, Va. on July 31, 2018, from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. The second meeting will likely be held in December 2018 and the third session is tentatively scheduled for March 2019. ### |
