Crisis Response Across the Continuum: Building a System That Works for Everyone
This July will mark two years since the launch of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and since then, it has received and routed about 8.6 million calls, texts, and chats. But a NAMI-Ipsos poll found that 82% of Americans still weren’t familiar with 988, even though it is the foundation of a nationwide plan to improve crisis services by making it easier for people to seek help when they need it for themselves or a loved one.
During this conference, Crisis Response Across the Continuum: Building a System That Works for Everyone, we will examine how a comprehensive and compassionate behavioral health crisis system goes beyond 988 and how that system must include community stakeholders from diverse populations. We’ll also address the role people with lived experience with the crisis system and advocates can play in shaping the direction.
